The euphoria of Mitrais Innovathon recently reached its mind-blowing crescendo with the highly anticipated Grand Finale. With the high-spirited tagline “Elevate your Innovation”, Innovathon 2023 aimed to inspire everyone to think outside the box, generating groundbreaking innovation through collaboration. The event marked the sixth season since its inception in 2017.

This year, the vibrant city of Yogyakarta served as the venue, so all the grand finalists from different offices flocked to the Mitrais Yogyakarta office. The spectacular Grand Finale was on live streaming and Zoom, enabling engagement from attendees in different office bases in Jakarta, Bali, Bandung, – even Tokyo, and Australia, along with those joining from the comfort of their homes. 

Marrying AI with the 80s Trends

Innovathon-6 celebrated AI as today’s desired technology and drew its inspiration from the 80s trends. The era has resurfaced and captivated the interest of people across generations – even Gen Z has shown a keen curiosity for the 80s stuff, bridging generational gaps. Through Innovathon 2023, everyone was taken on an extraordinary throwback adventure, reliving nostalgia. 

Meet the Winners of Innovathon-6

The top six finalists persuasively delivered their pitch live before the audience. The teams were so competitive and sharp, making it tough to pick a winner. Uniquely, some teams wore striking 80s-themed costumes and made grand entrances by dancing – such an entertaining moment. 

First Winner: AI-stimation

The AI-stimation team secured the first winner with its AI-powered project estimation tool. The tool combines AI capabilities with accuracy in estimating project efforts. With Ai-stimation, Irfan Bawa Suteja, Gilang Jalu Selo, and Mohammad Trinoferianto wanted to make project estimation a breeze and help companies manage projects efficiently. Efficient projects mean saving time and cashing in more profit – caching! 

Second Runner-Up: TalentMatch

Redefining the recruitment process is TalentMatch team’s mission. Imam Syaifuddin, Rifkan Ayu Widyaningsih, and Chandra Cipta landed the second runner-up by merging AI and job portal integration seamlessly. They designed a revolutionary app to find matching top-tier candidates across multiple job portals, saving time and enhancing the quality of hires. It is a win-win for recruiters and talents. 

Third Winner: EcoSorter

Driven by their concerns about the polluted environment, Reny Mulyaningsih, Raymon Akbar, and Seef Nasrul Islam Bambang came up with a brilliant idea to provide EcoSorter: a game-changing AI-powered waste sorting app that granted them the third winner. Not only the app captures item photos and let AI identify materials for users to do proper sorting and disposal, but it is also a hub that connects users with recycling resources, events, and initiatives, promoting community engagement. Making efforts for a greener future has never been this easy! 

Fourth Winner: Fellaw.ai

Needing legal help but don’t know where to start? The Fellaw.ai team understood the assignment, so they created a groundbreaking platform that revolutionizes legal engagement by providing accessible legal solutions and amplifies voices for justice. With Fellaw.ai, Yudhi Guntara, Muhammad Raihan Iqbal, and Kurnia Yoga Pamungkas, who all dressed up professionally in black suits for their pitching, made it to the fourth place. The trio’s app combines AI-driven guidance, professional lawyer assistance, and a dynamic petition platform that empowers every Indonesian with real-time AI consultations to personalized legal support. Now everyone can navigate legal challenges confidently.

Consolation 1: Ceritakan.ID

Mental health awareness is a big thing today. Life pressure can be a lot, so Ceritakan.ID team comes to the rescue with a psychology service platform where anyone can find professionals to help with psychological problems. It’s always good to vent and get out of entangled minds with clear perspectives. With Ceritakan.ID, cultivating your mental well-being is just a click away. Ade Hermawan, Gusviantoko Dali Purwanto, and Natasya won fifth place with this extraordinary innovation. 

Consolation 2: GreatFather

Passionate about helping fathers create meaningful bonds with their offspring, Muhammad Helmi Indra Pratama, Bayu Arengga Putra, and Muhammad Haekal introduced GreatFather: an innovative app that eases first-timer fathers when stepping into fatherhood. The app empowers users through AI-driven personalized suggestions, online education, expert consultations, a community, and a marketplace. Kudos to GreatFather for landing sixth place. 

Fun to the Max

Besides the top 6 teams’ pitching, there were also some fun engagements such as the B-I-N-G-O game where everyone at the office got to mingle and bond, pop quizzes, and the 80s dress code challenge. The challenge was the life of the party, where many attendees dressed in the 80s fashion and hairstyles – their drips were giving! It was awesome to see some people impersonating musicians and pop stars of the era – including Freddy Mercury, Michael Jackson, and Axl Rose.

Remarks from the Executives 

Wiwie Harris, the President Director of Mitrais jubilantly shared her impression of the Innovathon 2023, “This is one of the best Innovathon events in the history of Mitrais. I’m very proud of all the participants, the winners, and the organizing committee.” Attending the event from the Bali office, she also revealed her wish for the upcoming year’s competition, “As this year’s Innovathon has been so incredible and fun, I believe the next year’s committee will do their best to top it. I’m looking forward to another blast next year.”

Blown away by the spectacular occasion, She Kun, Mitrais Director who tuned in from the Jakarta office commented, “The engaging and lively MCs and pop culture theme make this year’s event stand out. The event was very professionally run, thanks to the organizers and all the teams that participated. Let’s do even better next year.
