Mitrais understands that the connection beyond screens should be nurtured to cultivate stronger teams. That’s why we create opportunities to connect in person, outside the usual office setting. Even though we work from different corners of Indonesia, our bonds grow stronger when we experience moments together.
Four Adventures, One Shared Journey
On the morning of 18 October, the world seemed to ease into another quiet Saturday’s serenity of a restful weekend. Yet for Mitrais, that morning quickly changed into something far more meaningful as we anticipated the office outings that stretched across four cities. The story of this year’s outing unfolded in four vibrant chapters.
Bali: Black Lava Jeep Tour and Kintamani Outbound
In Kintamani, the Bali team embarked on a thrilling jeep tour. With colleagues from different departments, groups of three jumped into their jeeps and headed to the black lava terrain. The majestic Mount Batur, Mount Abang, and Lake Batur offered breathtaking scenery. The moment the jeeps left the smooth village roads and raced through the rugged lava terrain, the adrenaline rush rose. Everyone in the jeeps gasped, laughed and gripped the metal bars above their heads or the seats when the volcanic rocks crunched beneath the tyres. The thrill of being off-road painted the day with energy. The team savoured the spectacular view of black lava terrain when they arrived at the photo points.
The adventure continued under the shade of a towering pine forest with outbound activities that strengthened camaraderie. Once the activities wrapped up, the team rested together and enjoyed lunch accompanied by live entertainment.
Yogyakarta: A Serene Escape to Rumah Atsiri
Meanwhile, in Yogyakarta, the team spent the day surrounded by the calming beauty of Rumah Atsiri, a historical essential oil distillery, in Tawangmangu. The refreshing retreat began with an Aromatic Garden tour, where everyone wandered through the gardens and learned about the plants and their benefits. Then, the energy picked up as the teams jumped into dynamic outbound activities.
After a delectable lunch, the outing continued with a herbal workshop where everyone was challenged to craft their own herbal drinks, sparking creativity and curiosity. The experience would not be complete without learning about the rich history of essential oils and global perfume traditions, so the team explored the Atsiri Museum with curiosity and awe.
The sensory-rich experience that blended nature, fragrance and culture ended with a satisfying all-you-can-eat dinner at Kakkoii – the perfect wrap to the day.
Bandung: Rafting through Palayangan River
The fresh air of Situ Cileunca Lake with its glassy water greeted the team upon arrival in Palayangan. After a warm-up with fun outdoor games, the adventure began: rafting down the rapids of the Palayangan River. Teams of four boarded their rafts, each accompanied by a guide. As the rumble of water hit the moss-covered rocks, the rafts dipped and bumped against the current. Every time they surged, and the water splashed high, the teams broke into joyful shouts.
After two hours of exhilarating rafting, they finally rested and devoured a delicious lunch by the river at Pineus Tilu. Laughter and stories from the previous heart-pounding experience were shared around the tables, strengthening camaraderie among the teams.
Jakarta: Strikes, Cheers, and Friendly Rivalry
Jakarta’s team brought the excitement indoors with a spirited bowling session that morning. The bowling game was kept beginner-friendly, so even a first-timer could join the fun. Some could clear the lane with a strike, while others dropped the ball a little too soon and watched it roll harmlessly into the gutter. Either way, the light-hearted rivalry, cheers, and playful encouragement filled the room with laughter, a shared experience that fostered connection beyond work and screens.
Still beaming from the strikes and spares, the team made their way to Hachi Grill for an all-you-can-eat feast. They gathered around a long table where sizzling platters and fresh ingredients filled the centre. Others passed around bowls of dipping sauces, rice, and side dishes, turning the table into a lively, shared buffet. Giggles carried over as stories from the bowling session resurfaced – epic strikes and the most unforgettable gutter balls – while enjoying the warm, delectable grill assortments. As the afternoon unfolded, the sense of connection lit up everyone’s faces as they toasted to teamwork, good food, and a day well spent.
Thoughts on the Outings
For many, the outing left powerful impressions. From Jakarta, Maulidya Y., Senior Tester, shared: “It was super fun! Big shoutout to the committee for choosing such a great bowling spot. The Arjuna Bowling staff were really friendly and helpful. I’ve only played bowling once and never had a coach, but I ended up getting a mini-coaching session, so I finally knew the right moves. No regrets going all out because our team became the best team, yay! And the AYCE lunch at Hachi Grill was awesome. Let’s do this again next time!
While from Yogyakarta, M. Kholid, Analyst Programmer, reflected: “Our outing to Rumah Atsiri was wonderful and memorable. The guide shared fascinating insights about fragrances and perfumes from around the world. We also enjoyed fun games and a herbal drink–making workshop that gave us hands-on experience. The outing brought us closer, and I’m grateful I could be part of it. Hopefully, we’ll have more activities like this in the future!”
Looking Ahead to More Memories Together
The Mitrais Outing 2025 was more than a company event; it was a reflection of who we are: a community that grows together, supports one another, and celebrates the connections that make our work meaningful.
As we look ahead, we remain hopeful and inspired. With every shared journey, we strengthen the culture that makes Mitrais not just a workplace, but a place where belonging thrives.
