A normal day at work can change in a matter of seconds. Someone could suddenly collapse onto the floor in the middle of a meeting, or a colleague could struggle to breathe during lunch due to a choking incident. In these situations, panic and fear can freeze anyone, while every second matters and waiting or reacting incorrectly could put someone’s life at greater risk.
In those critical moments, knowing what to do can make all the difference. Quick and appropriate action before medical professionals arrive can help prevent severe injury and even save a life.
Prioritising Well-being through Life-Saving Skills Workshop
As a company that understands the importance of emergency readiness, Mitrais is committed to prioritising employee safety and well-being through programmes that empower individuals both professionally and personally. Collaborating with AXA, Marsh Mercer Benefits, and trusted healthcare professionals, the company held the First Aid & CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Workshop, an initiative to strengthen emergency preparedness and foster proactive care within the workplace.
Welcomed with immense enthusiasm by the staff, the workshop took place across Mitrais’ offices in Bali, Yogyakarta, and Bandung. Dr I Made Miarta Yasa from BaliMed Hospital led the workshop at the Bali office. The Yogyakarta office hosted Ahmadyani Suaib, S.Kep., Ns and Sri Suyanti, S.Kep., Ns from JIH Hospital. Meanwhile, dr Margaretha Ivana Bintoro from Mayapada Hospital shared her expertise at the Bandung office.
Practical Learning to Build Emergency Awareness and Skills
The First Aid & CPR Workshop was designed to improve employees’ awareness and readiness to handle emergencies. During the sessions, the staff reviewed the principles of first aid and the immediate actions they should take before the medical team arrives.
To make the learning process easier to understand, the trainers provided step-by-step guidance for handling emergency cases. Participants were introduced to practical response procedures, including identifying warning signs, checking responsiveness, contacting emergency services, and performing CPR correctly.
Mitrais people had the opportunity to practice CPR techniques directly using a resuscitation manikin provided by the hospital teams. This hands-on practice helped participants gain real experience and better understand proper body positioning, compression rhythm, and emergency response coordination.
The workshop encouraged active participation and open discussion. Employees freely asked questions, shared concerns, and discussed real-life scenarios with the trainers.
Confidence to Respond in Critical Situations
Beyond learning technical skills, the workshop helped employees build the confidence to act during emergencies. Many participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity.
Putri W., Facilities Services staff at Mitrais, shared her enthusiasm after joining the workshop:
“I am grateful to have participated in this CPR workshop. It made me realise how important it is to be prepared for emergencies at any time.
As mothers, we are often the first responders for our children and family members, especially when no one else is around. This workshop not only taught practical CPR skills but also gave me the confidence to stay calm and take action when every second counts. I believe CPR training is a lifesaving skill that everyone should learn. Thank you to Mitrais for organising this workshop so well.”
Similarly, Elvira R., an Analyst, highlighted how the workshop gives her more confidence in handling emergencies:
“I’ve been looking for this kind of training because it’s so handy in emergency situations. The trainers explained everything clearly, and the hands-on practice really helped me understand the correct CPR techniques. It gives me peace of mind knowing I now have the basic skills to perform CPR. Thank you, Mitrais, for organising this workshop at the office.”
These positive experiences demonstrate how practical learning can empower individuals to remain calm, focused, and capable in the face of unexpected situations.
Value in Preparedness and Care
First Aid and CPR skills go beyond technical abilities. They reflect readiness, responsibility, trust, and genuine care for others. By investing in employee well-being and emergency preparedness, Mitrais continues to build teams that remain calm under pressure, responsive in critical situations, and ready to step in for one another.
The same reliability, resilience, and collaborative mindset demonstrated during emergency preparedness training are reflected in how Mitrais teams approach every project and partnership.
Through a work culture that prioritises both people and performance, Mitrais develops capable professionals and fosters trusted partnerships that create lasting impact.
