'THINK LIKE A TYRE' - Tyre Management Seminar by Mitrais and Klinge & Co
09 May 2007

Mitrais Mining Solutions Division, a leader in business consulting and technology for the Indonesian Mining Industry, will organize a half-day seminar about Tyre Management in Mining.

Today, the mining industry is in the midst of a global tyre shortage which is showing no signs of easing and could through until 2015.  This has driven up the prices of tyres and has made it challenging for many companies to meet their targeted production levels.

In addition to their critical shortages, Tyre management will play a crucial role for organizations in relation to their ability to predict requirements by specific types out many years into the future.  Other key roles include the safe and cost effective management of tyres across the whole life cycle.  Changing specifications, delivery schedules, grades, and application all need to be considered in their impacts to the production plan and financial performance.

Mitrais Vice President of Business Development, Brian Erickson said that a quality tyre management solution is a priority item for most mining organizations today.

As a result, Mitrais has invited Klinge & Co – a world renowned, Australian-based Tyre Management Company, to provide a half day workshop with strategies and tips for good Tyre Management. ‘Think Like a Tyre’ will be conducted in Bali, Friday, June 1st 2007 from 2 pm to 6 pm.   The timing and location for this event fits in with schedules for those who may be coming to Bali for the COALTRANS conference starting Sunday 3 June.  This will be a long weekend as Friday is also a public holiday in Indonesia.
This interactive and practical seminar will cover basic risk management approaches and how they can be effectively used to identify and reduce tyre related risks – covering the areas of tyre maintenance/service and operations alike. Benefits of using such a risk-based approach are not only improvements in tyre life, but also better and more reliable management of safety of both tyre service men, operators and maintenance providers, and of those inherent factors and conditions that have an adverse impact on achieving best outcomes for the business.
There will be a number of case examples and visual presentations throughout the seminar to demonstrate practical approaches, and delegates will be encouraged to share experiences and participate in discussion
Topics to be covered include tyre and rim related risk management, methodologies and tools, presented by Miles Rigney, Klinge Manager for Products, Service and Support.
To attend this event, limited free invitations can be obtained by sending an e-mail to info@mitrais.com, with ‘Think Like A Tyre’ stated on the subject. We will send you the confirmation and the complete schedule about this event.

Only limited seats available for this seminar – invitations will be given on first come first serve basis.
